Healthcare Waste Management Services

One Medicare provides a complete range of services for the management of healthcare waste for 23 hospitals in Sarawak. Recently a lot of focus has been placed on increasing awareness and the need for the proper disposal of healthcare waste in the Healthcare industries.

Our service covers the collection to treatment and safe disposal of all Healthcare waste. Healthcare waste has been segregated to include clinical waste, solid waste, pharmaceutical waste, radioactive waste, kitchen waste, and general waste.

For Scheduled Waste Management, One Medicare has been active in conducting in-house training for all the Heads of Services, Supervisors, Incinerator Operators, and Drivers to enhance their ability, skill, and knowledge in managing scheduled waste. External trainers such as Bomba Hazmat Malaysia are also invited to share and train the staff on Spillage Management of Schedule Waste. OMSB competent persons also conduct awareness training for staff and hospital representatives to enhance their knowledge and awareness.

One Medicare currently has five (5) incinerator plants for incineration of SW404. All five (5) incinerators are beyond fifteen (15) years old. In 2016, a major refurbishment project was conducted to ensure the proper functioning of the incinerators in order to prevent the occurrence of any major breakdown.
